To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Eastern Railway observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 26 – 31, 2015. The main theme of this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week is “Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance”. This Vigilance Awareness Week is observed at it’s headquarters and also all over Eastern Railway including its four Divisions viz. Sealdad, Howrah, Asansol & Malda and the three workshops viz. Liluah, Kanchrapara & Jamalpur.
Shri R.K. Gupta, General Manager, Eastern Railway paid a floral tribute at the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and administered the pledge among the Officers & Staff of Eastern Railway at its headquarters at Fairlie Place, this morning (27.10.2015).
Shri Gupta, urged upon the Railway employees to continuously strive to bring about integrity and transparency in all spheres of activities to eradicate corruption in all spheres. He advised the Railwaymen to remain vigilant and work towards the growth and reputation of the organization to provide value based service to the countrymen. He appealed to Railwaymen to do their duties conscientiously and act without fear and favour.
Shri U.K. Bal, Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer, Eastern Railway with other Principal Head of the Departments were present on the occasion.
A skit against fake appointment agency for Railway job was also performed by the staff of ER on this occasion.
To generate vigilance awareness, slogan writing competition on “Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance” is being organized in all divisions and workshops of Eastern Railway.
As a means of public awareness campaign, seminars, workshops, banners, posters at strategic locations in different stations and Eastern Railway offices, publication of vigilance bulletin (Jagriti), publication of display advertisements in newspapers as a means of mass-awareness are being organized throughout the Vigilance Awareness week.
