The highly patronized Chamarajanagar – Tirupati Fast Passenger will be converted into a mail or express service with change in the train number from August.
The Railways wanted to integrate the rake with the Taluguppa – Bengaluru passenger and the integrated rake upgraded to an express train, will also have higher punctuality compared to passenger trains, according to officials here.
Meanwhile, a release said Train No. 56213/56214, Chamarajanagar-Tirupati-Chamarajanagar Fast Passenger would be converted into Mail/Express with change in Train No. as 16219/16220.
The release said there was no change in existing stops, and the train composition and the converted service would commence from August 22 from Chamarajanagar and from August 23 from Tirupati end.
Accordingly, Train No. 16219 Chamarajanagar-Tirupati Express will depart from Chamarajanagar at 3.10 p.m, will arrive/depart from Nanjangud at 3.48 p.m/3.49 p.m. But there is no change in timings from Mysuru to Chandragiri, and the train will arrive at Tirupati at 5.25 a.m.
In the return direction, there are no changes in the timings of Train No. 16220 Tirupati-Chamarajanagar Express from Tirupati to Nanjangud and the train will arrive at Chamarajanagar at 12.20 p.m.
