Students’ agitation for jallikattu forced Southern Railway to Changes in the pattern of the Train Services.

Southern Railway - Cancellation of the Trains due to Jallikattu Agitation

In view of unrest/demonstration over Tamil Nadu area with regard to Jallikattu and consequent to the prevailing situation, the following are the changes in pattern of Train Services.

Trains fully cancelled

Train No.56701 Punalur – Madurai Passenger scheduled to leave o­n 21.01.2017

Train No.56825 Erode – Tirunelveli Passenger scheduled to leave o­n 21.01.2017

Train No.22623 Chennai Egmore – Madurai Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017

Trains partially cancelled

Train No.17235 KSR Bengaluru – Nagercoil Express which left KSR Bengaluru o­n 19.01.2017 has been partially cancelled between Sivaganga and Nagercoil

Train No.17236 Nagercoil – KSR Bengaluru Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017 is partially cancelled between Nagercoil and Tiruchchirappalli. This train will leave Tiruchchirappalli at 01.00 hrs. o­n 21.01.2017 and will pick up the original timings from Karur.

Train No.16101 Chennai Egmore – Rameswaram Express which left Chennai Egmore o­n 19.01.2017 has been partially cancelled between Panangudi and Rameswaram

Train No.16102 Rameswaram – Chennai Egmore Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017 is partially cancelled between Rameswaram and Karaikkudi

Train No.22627 Tiruchchirappalli – Tirunelveli Inter City Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017, originally diverted via. Karaikkudi, Manamadurai, Virudunagar has been partially cancelled between Pudukkottai, Karaikkudi and Tirunelveli

Train No.22628 Tirunelveli – Tiruchchirappalli Inter City Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017, originally diverted via. Virudunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikkudi, Pudukkottai has been partially cancelled between Tirunelveli and Karaikkudi

Train No.16353 Kacheguda – Nagercoil Express which left o­n 18.01.2017 has been partially cancelled between Tiruchchirappalli and Nagercoil.

Train No.12641 Kanniyakumari – Nizamuddin Thirukkural Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017 has been partially cancelled between Kanniyakumari and Tiruchchirappalli.

Train No.16236 Mysuru – Tuticorin Express which left o­n 19.01.2017, originally diverted via. Pudukkottai, Karaikkudi, Manamadurai, Virudunagar has been partially cancelled between Pudukkottai and Tuticorin. This train will leave as T.No.16235 from Pudukkottai at 19.30 hrs. o­n 20.01.2017 from Pudukkottai to Mysuru via. Tiruchchirappalli, Karur and pick up original timings from Karur.

Train No.22625 Chennai Central – KSR Bengaluru AC Double Decker Express scheduled to leave  o­n 20.01.2017 is partially cancelled between Katpadi and KSR Bengaluru.

Train No.22626 KSR Bengaluru– Chennai Central AC Double Decker Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017 is partially cancelled between KSR Bengaluru and Katpadi.

Train No.12675 Chennai Central – Coimbatore Kovai Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017 is partially cancelled between Jolarpettai and Coimbatore.

Train No.12676 Coimbatore – Chennai Central Kovai Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017 is partially cancelled between Coimbatore and Jolarpettai.

Train No.12243 Chennai Central – Coimbatore Shatabdi Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017 is partially cancelled between Katpadi and Coimbatore.

Train No.12244 Coimbatore – Chennai Central Shatabdi Express scheduled to leave o­n 20.01.2017 is partially cancelled between Coimbatore and Katpadi.
C . Trains diverted

Train No.22641 Thiruvananthapuram – Shalimar Express scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram o­n 19.01.2017 has been diverted to run via Melpakkam and Renigunta. This train will not touch Chennai area. This train will stop for 2 minutes at Tiruttani for the convenience of passengers.
